Road to Earth Day & Earth Day Symposium
In the lead-up to Earth Day, Manakal curated a three-week global learning journey titled Road to Earth Day, designed to spark dialogue, reflection, and action across cultures and communities. Each week featured a thematic session centered on the planet, delivered in multiple languages to reflect Manakal’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.
The journey began with a Spanish-language session hosted by Esteban Serrano, setting the tone for cross-cultural exchange and shared responsibility. This was followed by an English session led by Vikrant Joshi, focused on Hope and Action: Positive Pathways for the Planet, exploring solutions-driven narratives and actionable change.
The third week featured an interactive workshop titled Connecting with Nature: The Nature I Want to Protect. Conducted in Korean, English, and Spanish, the session invited participants to reflect on their personal relationship with nature while expanding the initiative’s global reach.
This multi-lingual, multi-perspective journey culminated in the Earth Day Symposium, a truly global convening of youth leaders and organizations working at the intersection of sustainability and social impact. The symposium brought together voices from across continents, including Kuenga Seldon representing Project Tsangdra from Bhutan, Adeleke Adekunle from Nigeria with Mental Health in Transit, and Ayvu Pacha from Bolivia.
Together, the Road to Earth Day and the Symposium created a platform that not only highlighted diverse grassroots efforts but also underscored the power of youth-led action in shaping a more sustainable and equitable future for the planet.
